Kathmandu: Janardan Sharma has been reappointed as a Finance Minister and has also took the oath of office and secrecy today.
President Bidhya Devi Bhandari administered the oath to Sharma in a ceremony held at the presidential residence.
Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota and heads of constitutional bodies were present at the ceremony.
Earlier Speaker Agni Sapkota formed an 11-member special parliamentary investigation committee after it was alleged that unauthorized persons were involved in changing the tax rates during the preparation of the budget.
With the formation of the committee, Sharma had resigned from his post.
The Parliamentary Study Special Committee formed to investigate Sharma could not find him guilty. Citing the CCTV footage were not clear the study committee has concluded Sharma is not guilty.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of the Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda are being heavily criticized for reassigning the minister post to the disputed person.
