Kathmandu: The committee formed to investigate the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Tourism Board, Dhananjay Regmi, has submitted its report to the board.
A report submitted by the committee formed under the coordination of the board’s vice-chairman Chandra Rijal to the board’s chairman and tourism secretary Maheshwar Neupane on Monday concluded that CEO Regmi was involved in financial irregularities.
According to the report, he found guilty on Tribhuvan International Airport case and even paid a fine. Questions have also been raised about the fact that the amount of alcohol in his possession is more than prescribed by law.
In addition, it has been seen that the board has been misled by hiding the incident of illegal smuggling of gold back in 2018.
The report also states that additional expenses have been incurred in the name of staff transfer, participation of at least 10 private sector entrepreneurs in international fairs has not been ensured and the board’s directive has not been followed.
