Kathmandu: Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is scheduled to embark on an official visit to Nepal this Sunday, at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart, Sewa Lamsal.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced that Misri’s two-day visit underscores the ongoing tradition of high-level exchanges between the two neighboring countries and highlights India’s commitment to its Neighborhood First policy.
According to the Ministry’s statement, the visit reflects the deep-rooted civilizational, cultural, and people-to-people connections shared by India and Nepal. It also notes the recent strengthening of bilateral cooperation, which includes the completion of major infrastructure projects in Nepal and the initiation of new ones with support from the Indian government.
“This visit provides a valuable opportunity to further advance and enhance our bilateral ties,” the statement concluded.
