India reduces grant aid to Nepal

Kathmandu: India has cut off aid budget to Nepal.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the federal Budget for the financial year 2023/24 on Wednesday. In which, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India, the grant aid budget for neighboring countries including Nepal is allocated.

According to the data, India is going to give Nepal IRs 5.5 billion for this year.

This is less than last year’s allocated budget. Last year, India allocated 7.5 billion Indian rupees for Nepal.

India spends the most on foreign aid to Bhutan. This year, Bhutan will receive IRs 24 billion in aid from India.
