Kathmandu: The Immigration Department will halt the work of issuing trekking permits to the tourists going for trekking for two days during the Dashain festival.

According to the department, the work of the department will continue even on public holidays starting from October 17.

The department has informed that the service will be closed on September 15 and 16. Foreign tourists can go trekking only with the permission of the Immigration Department. In particular, permission from the department is required to enter restricted areas.

Entrepreneurs expect the government to ease the movement of vaccinated tourists and increase the number of tourists. Foreign tourists who have not been vaccinated abroad are required to come to Nepal with a visa from the Nepalese diplomatic mission in their home country.
