Kathmandu: ‘Ice Cream’ and ‘Lakhe’ have emerged first in the Iawrt Women’s Short Film Competition 2020 organized to increase women’s participation in the film industry.
Two short films have won the competition organized by the International Association of Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT), Nepal. The first successful film ‘Ice Cream’ was directed by Sangeeta Shrestha and ‘Lakhe’ was directed by Rizla Shrestha.
Similarly, ‘I’m a Fighter’ directed by Nisha Manandhar has come second. A total of eight films were included in the competition this time. Judge Binod Poudel announced the three winning films in the virtual event.
Film director, Oscar College director and principal Binod Poudel, director and script writer Sampada Malla and actress Usha Rajak played decisive roles in the competition.
As short film competition is being held for the development of the inherent potential of women, the program will be continued in the coming days for the leadership and personality development of women in the media sector, said Monteshwari Rajbhandari, chairperson of the organization.
