Human Rights Commission to monitor election activity across the country

Kathmandu: The National Human Rights Commission has decided to monitor the local elections. The commission has said that they are preparing to monitor the election in three phases including before, during and after the election.

The commission also monitored the nomination of candidates. The commission has planned to mobilize 47 teams and monitor the election during the election period.

According to the commission, a control room and a quick monitoring mechanism have been set up for monitoring.

The commission, which monitors nomination registration, has expressed concern over the decline in the number of candidates from marginalized communities.

The commission has pointed out the challenges of giving election symbols, violating the code of conduct during campaigning and expressing hate speech.
