Kathmandu: Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) has appealed to the government to create an environment conducive to full-capacity operations at airports. A delegation led by HAN President Vinayak Shah met with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Vishnu Paudel on Tuesday to discuss increasing international flights to boost tourist arrivals.
Minister Paudel highlighted plans to expand and upgrade national highways in key tourism hubs like Pokhara, Chitwan, and Lumbini to enhance connectivity and development within a specified timeline.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to stabilize and promote the tourism and hotel sectors under the upcoming monetary policy, encouraging long-awaited industry recognition and policy improvements.
HAN President Shah underscored the need for government initiatives to improve spending limits and arrangements for Indian tourists visiting Nepal, along with promoting domestic tourism. The association has put forward proposals for tourism development expansion.
