Kathmandu: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has said that continuous monitoring and supervision of relief and rescue operations are underway in response to disasters triggered by recent heavy rainfall.
In a video message released on Saturday, Minister Aryal stated that the Ministry of Home Affairs and its subordinate bodies have been closely observing the situation since October 3, when continuous rainfall began. He added that warnings and alerts have been regularly issued to minimize risks.
The minister also informed that a review meeting was held with chief district officers from all 77 districts, representatives from security agencies, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, and other concerned bodies to evaluate ongoing disaster response efforts.
