Kathmandu: Flights were halted at several airports in Nepal’s eastern region on Tuesday due to heavy fog, causing widespread disruptions. Most flights could neither take off nor land until around 12 noon, leaving passengers stranded and causing significant delays.
According to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) officials, airports in Janakpur, Simara, Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Chandragadhi, Rajbiraj, and others were affected by the fog in the morning. As of midday, flights had resumed from Chandragadhi, Rajbiraj, and Simara, but operations remained grounded at Janakpur and Biratnagar airports.
