Health ministry urges to complain against overcharging hospitals

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Health and Population has requested to complain against the health institution for charging more than the prescribed fee for the treatment of covid-19.

The ministry has requested the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Ministry of Social Development, District Administration Office and the municipality to register complaints against such health institutions if they are found to have taken more than the prescribed amount during corona treatment.

The government has fixed Rs 3,500 per day for general patients, Rs 7,000 per day for moderate patients and Rs 15,000 per day for critically ill patients.

The ministry has said that if any patient wants to be treated at his own expense, then the hospitals can charge 50 percent more than the fee prescribed by the government. Similarly, the Ministry of Health has requested the Ministry of Industry to monitor the treatment of the infected as per the fee prescribed by the government.
