Kathmandu: The government has scrapped the quota system in oxygen supply to hospitals. The Ministry of Health has issued a statement saying that the quota system has been abolished.

The Ministry of Health has directed all the oxygen producing industries to provide oxygen to the hospitals through regular transportation process as before.

There was a shortage of oxygen in government hospitals even after the government made arrangements to distribute oxygen in the quota system while supplying oxygen to the hospital from the oxygen industry in the Kathmandu Valley.

The Ministry of Health has also formed a high-level team to manage the distribution of oxygen after the CCMC gave the responsibility to the Ministry of Health.
