Health ministry requests to give empty oxygen cylinders to hospital

Kathmandu (Rashtriya Samachar Samiti): The Ministry of Health and Population has requested to give empty cylinders of oxygen to the hospital. During the monitoring of the ministry, it was found that many cylinders were kept empty by themselves and requested to make such empty cylinders available in the hospital for the treatment of covid-19 infected.

Joint Spokesperson of the Ministry Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari has requested the industrialists and stakeholders to provide such cylinders to the hospital as the cylinders have been found empty and stored during the ministry’s monitoring.

The number of oxygen cylinders is 6,288 and 1,411.5 liters are being consumed daily. According to him, the hospital has been asked to provide as many cylinders as possible to save the lives of the citizens.

The ministry has stated that it will take action based on the Infectious Diseases Act 2020 if it is found to be empty and full. He said oxygen and oxygen cylinders, which are essential for the treatment of the infected, were still being used in many industries, contrary to the government’s decision.
