Health ministry directs not to test PCR of foreign nationals

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Health and Population has instructed the laboratories not to test the corona of foreign nationals coming in transit.

The ministry issued a statement on Sunday asking not to test the corona of foreign nationals coming to Nepal as transit.

The statement said, “All laboratories are instructed not to test the Covid 19 of any foreign nationals who have come to Nepal for transit or only for testing.” The risk of spreading the disease is even greater as it is discouraged and cannot be stopped.

Laboratories have been instructed to test corona only on the basis of proof of identity of Nepali citizens, diplomatic missions, mission staff and their families and foreign nationals residing in Nepal.

The ministry has also issued a statement warning to take action as per the rules if any laboratories or individuals are found to be conducting tests against the instructions of the ministry.
