Govt warns not to create artifical shortage during festive season

Kathmandu: The government has drawn the attention of industrialists not to sell food and non-food items, which are in high demand during the festive season, by creating artificial shortages and raising unnatural prices.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Singhdarbar today, Tuesday, has asked the businessmen not to create artificial scarcity in the market and not to sell goods in black market.

The government has also warned that strict action will be taken according to the law to those who create artificial shortage in the market.

The Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma informed that the government has also requested to inform about artificial shortage and black market on Hello Sarkar, commerce department portal or toll free number 1137.
