Govt to revise 45-year old tourism policy

Kathmandu: The process of revising the 45-year-old Tourism Act has begun.

One month back Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation got approval from the cabinet to draft the Federal Tourism Bill by amending the Act.

According to the ministry, the process of drafting a new law has started with the aim of making the tourism sector of Nepal an important basis for social and economic development by incorporating the new topics developed in the tourism sector into the law.

The government has asked for suggestions from businessmen, professional associations, experts and researchers for this bill.
The ministry has mentioned that suggestions for new laws can be sent to the ministry within 30 days.

The upcoming bill has been prepared to cover the contribution made by all three levels of government in tourism promotion.
