Govt to provide up to 65 percent relief to flood victim farmers

Kathmandu: The government has decided to provide relief up to 65 percent of the damage to paddy farmers due to floods, landslides and inundation.

Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada informed that the cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to provide relief up to 65 percent of the loss to the farmers with less than 10 katthas of land.

He said that it has been decided to provide 30 percent relief to the farmers with 10 to three bighas of land and 20 percent relief to the farmers with more than three bighas of land.

The government had formed a committee under the coordination of Home Ministry Secretary Teknarayan Pandey to study the damage caused to the paddy crop.
