Govt to provide Rs 50,000 per month to the author of Nepali national anthem

Kathmandu: The government has decided to provide 50,000 rupees per month to the author and composer of the national anthem, Pradeep Kumar Rai (Byakul Maila), for a comfortable living.

Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Government Spokesperson and Minister of Communication and Information Technology, said that earlier he was receiving 25,000 rupees per month.

Spokesperson Karki also informed that the government has decided to provide a nurse for the regular health care of Satya Mohan Joshi, the cultural scholar and centenarian, by the Ministry of Health and Population.

Similarly, the government has invited the Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission to participate in the Third Ministerial Conference on Regional Economic Cooperation and Integration in Asia and the Pacific.
