Kathmandu: The government is going to start an evening heritage tour in Kathmandu Valley.
This program was included in the tourism revitalization action plan brought by the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha.
On Wednesday, Minister Shrestha discussed with the stakeholders about starting the evening walk in the heritage areas of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Patan and Kritipur.
Minister Shrestha expressed his belief that the evening heritage tour will increase the arrival of tourists and prolong the stay of tourists in the valley.
He said that through the evening heritage tour, the art, culture and heritage of these places will be promoted as an external and internal tourist destination and help in building the heritage.
Cooperation between tourism professionals and local residents, lighting arrangements to make the heritage visible, security arrangements, as well as preparation for local business operations until the evening, will be conducted.
According to tourism professionals, the night viewing of historical heritage, temples, parks and historical arts is very attractive and charming.
Local level representatives of the valley as well as hotel businessmen, tourism businessmen, police and representatives of local organizations participated in the discussion today.
