Govt spent Rs 1.40 billion from Corona Fund

Kathmandu: The Corona Infection Prevention and Treatment Fund has so far accumulated Rs 1.7882 billion.

The income and expenditure details made public by the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General show that amount as income. Similarly, the expenditure was Rs 1.40 billion, according to the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General.

A total of Rs 55.23 million was transferred from the Corona Fund on August 2. Similarly, Rs. 392.039 million was transferred from the fund on August 24, Rs 934.04 million on September 7 and Rs. 225.11 million on November 13. The Corona Fund now has Rs 384.44 million.

The fund came into operation as per the decision of the cabinet of the government on March 22. The money raised in the fund was said to be spent on prevention and treatment of corona, the supply of medical supplies and construction of infrastructure and manpower mobilization for the same.
