Govt resumes land plotting process across Nepal

Kathmandu: In a significant policy shift, the government has decided to lift the suspension on land plotting, following a recent Cabinet meeting. The decision was made based on a proposal from the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation, allowing for land plotting to resume nationwide.

Previously, out of 753 municipalities across the country, only 193 had successfully carried out land classification, leading to various issues with land plotting. As of today, the Department of Land Management and Records has announced that land plotting activities will commence at land revenue offices across the nation.

Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation Minister Balram Adhikari has urged municipalities to address the issues to ensure that no further problems arise during the land plotting process. Minister Adhikari emphasized the need for all municipalities to complete the process within the current fiscal year to prevent future disruptions in land plotting.
