Kathmandu: The government has again increased fares for public transport.
The Department of Transportation Management issued a notice on Tuesday stating that the fare of passenger and freight vehicles of inter-province transportation has been increased.
The government has decided to increase the vehicle fare after the Nepal Oil Corporation increased the price of fuel by Rs 10 at a time.
The department has also stated that there is a policy of adjusting the fare if the price of fuel increases or decreases by 5 percent at the same time.
According to the department, the increased fare will be implemented from tomorrow.
According to the department, the fare for passenger vehicles has increased by 3.5 percent.
The department said that the price of freight vehicles on hilly roads has increased by 4.6 percent and freight vehicles on Terai roads by 5.1 percent.
