Govt halts arrivals of South African in Nepal

Kathmandu: Amid the rising risk of a new variant of the Corona Omicron, the government has decided to bar citizens of South African countries from entering Nepal until further notice.

The Home Ministry has instructed the Immigration Department, Tribhuvan International Airport Office and the local administration office in the border areas to make arrangements to prevent the entry of South African nationals.

The Immigration Department has already issued a circular to its subordinate immigration offices to implement this decision.

Neighboring India has also decided to take high precautions to prevent and control the omikron variant as it is being found in some other countries besides South Africa.
