Kathmandu: Minister of State for Health and Population Umesh Shrestha has stated that the supply of vaccines and vaccination against corona is the first priority of the government.

At a meeting of the House of Representatives, Education and Health Committee on Thursday, he said 300,000 people are being vaccinated against corona on a daily basis. Moreover, the government has a plan to vaccinate daily five million people any time soon.

Among the total population 13 percent have received the full dose of the vaccine so far, he said. He further said that the current government has already ensured 53 million doses of vaccine against corona.

He said that the government has given priority to vaccinating remote and inaccessible districts. “Because of the small population and the difficulty in getting treatment, we can first vaccinate the residents of remote districts,” he said.
