Kathmandu: In a significant announcement, the Nepali government has declared tomorrow a public holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Fitr, a prominent festival celebrated by the Muslim community. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a press release today, confirming that the holiday will be observed nationwide.
This decision comes as Eid-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting observed by Muslims around the world. The final day of Eid was rescheduled to Thursday due to the non-sighting of the moon today, as stated by the Ministry.
On this auspicious occasion, members of the Muslim community gather at mosques and designated prayer grounds known as Idgah to perform the Namaj, a special prayer offered specifically for Eid. Following the prayers, individuals exchange warm greetings and participate in festive feasting with family and friends, marking the joyous conclusion of Ramadan.
As the country joins in celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, let us extend our heartfelt wishes for peace, happiness, and prosperity to all members of the Muslim community.
