Kathmandu: The government has banned foreign employment for bike rider and taxi driver positions in Dubai and Qatar.
The Department Foreign Employment (DoFE) has decided to stop pre-approval because most of the workers who have gone to such positions in those countries are in trouble.
The department has said that there has been an increase in the complaints of the workers going to these posts not getting the minimum salary as per the approval demand letter.
There have also been complaints that most of the workers had to pay huge fines due to traffic violations many times.
According to the department, this rule will remain in force until further decision. The department has now also requested the Nepali Embassy in Qatar and Dubai not to verify the demand letter for the post.
