Kathmandu: The government has announced a public holiday for two days a week, on Saturday and Sunday.
The new rule will come into effect from mid-May. Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki informed that the decision was taken at a cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, office hours have been extended from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.
The cabinet has decided to maintain the office hours at 9:30 am and 5:30 pm and give public holidays two days a week on Saturdays and Sundays with effect from mid-May.
