Kathmandu: The price of gold in the domestic market soared to a new record on Sunday, reaching Rs 167,400 per tola. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the fine gold price increased by Rs 1,400 per tola, up from Rs 166,000 on Friday.
This recent spike reflects a notable trend of rising prices during the Nepali month of Kartik, with gold previously hitting Rs 166,700 per tola on Wednesday before experiencing a brief decline. The price fell to Rs 166,000 per tola on Thursday, where it remained stable through Friday.
The steady upward trajectory aligns with global market trends, contributing to the surge in local prices. In addition, silver prices also experienced an increase, rising by Rs 15 per tola to reach Rs 2,085 per tola, up from Rs 2,070 on Friday.
As the market continues to evolve, these trends in gold and silver prices are closely monitored by both traders and consumers alike.
