Gold price hits new record in domestic market

Kathmandu: The price of gold has reached a new record high in the country. On Sunday, gold prices surged by Rs 1,000 per tola, hitting an all-time high of Rs 145,400 per tola in the domestic market, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations (FENEGOSIDA).

This new peak surpasses the previous record of Rs 144,000 per tola, which was set on June 5. Despite this significant increase in the Nepali market, the record set on May 20 in the international market remains unbroken, where gold reached $2,426 per ounce. On Sunday, the international price of gold was recorded at $2,391 per ounce.

In addition to gold, the price of silver also saw an increase on Sunday. FENEGOSIDA reported that silver is now being traded at Rs 1,890 per tola, up by Rs 20 from Rs 1,870 per tola on Friday.
