Gautam Buddha International Airport begins commercial flights from today

Kathmandu: The Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA) at Bhairahawa in Rupendehi district has come into operation on Thursday.

Another new international airport has come into operation in the country after 74 years of operation of Tribhuvan International Airport.

The old 1,500-meter runway of the airport, which is a project of national pride, has been closed and a new 3,000-meter-long international runway has come into operation from today.

The international flight at this airport is scheduled to start from the day of Buddha Jayanti on May 18. Domestic flights have been operated from the new runway from today.

Jazeera Air has made all preparations for international flights at this airport.
