Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma elected as General Secretary for Nepali Congress

Kathmandu: Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma have been elected for the post of General Secretary under the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress.

In the counting of votes held on Thursday, Gagan Kumar Thapa got 3,023 votes and Bishwaprakash Sharma got 1,084 votes. Similarly, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, 1,556, Pradip Padel, 1,393, Dr. Minendra Rijal has eight hundred and Dr. Rajaram Karki has received 106 votes.

A total of 4,682 votes were cast in the polls held last Saturday. Out of which 43 votes were invalid.

Out of the six candidates for the post of General Secretary, two have been selected for the post of General Secretary. Deuba has been elected as the chairman while Purna Bahadur Khadka of the Deuba group and Dhanraj Gurung of the Koirala group have been elected as the deputy chairman.
