Foreign secretary Sewa Lamsal and Indian counterpart Vikram Misri discuss bilateral relations

Kathmandu: Nepal’s Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal and Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met on Monday, August 12, at the Hilton Hotel in Naxal. Misri’s visit, which began on Sunday, August 11, was on the cordial invitation of Lamsal and is set to conclude today.

During the meeting, the two diplomats discussed various aspects of Nepal-India relations, including the need to review and enhance bilateral ties. They explored strategies to advance their relationship and addressed issues related to the regularization of meetings between the countries’ bilateral mechanisms.

The discussion also covered the effective implementation of India-funded projects and programs in Nepal. According to Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Amrit Rai, Misri’s visit is primarily introductory, with no formal agreements or pacts expected to be finalized during this trip.
