Fire in Jumla kills Four children

Surkhet (Rashtriya Samachar Samiti): Four children have died in a fire that broke out in Kudari Sarkiwada village of Tila rural municipality-3 in Jumla district on Friday night.

Two daughters, a son and a niece of Mansin Sarki died in the fire. The deceased have been identified as Sarki’s daughters Anu, 11, Darshana, 3, Deepesh, 1, and Tirsana Sarki, 14, niece, Jumla District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Narendra Chand told RSS.

“We were informed about the fire at 11:45 pm,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police Chand. He said that the second and third floors of the house were completely damaged due to the fire.

Mansin and his wife Phaguni and sister Runchakali, who lost consciousness due to the fire, have been brought to Karnali Institute of Health Sciences for treatment.

He said that the bodies of the four deceased children were being brought to the institute for autopsy.

Police said that an investigation is underway into the incident.
