Election commission takes action against candidates who did not submit election expenses

Kathmandu: The Election Commission has takes action against 2,435 candidates who did not disclose their expenditure details for the House of Representatives and Province Assembly elections within the stipulated time.

On Tuesday, Shaligram Sharma Poudel, spokesperson and joint secretary of the commission, issued a press release and informed that 2,435 candidates were fined 15,000.

The House of Representatives and State Assembly elections were completed seven months back.

After the election, a total of 5,562 candidates, including 2,374 members of the House of Representatives and 3,188 members of the Provincial Assembly, were asked to disclose their expenses.

Among the candidates who didnot submit election expenses, 1,378 candidates for the House of Representatives and 1,398 candidates for the Provincial Assembly.
