Kathmandu: The Election Commission has completed all the preparation to begin candidate registration from tomorrow (Sunday).
Direct nominations are being registered for the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections. Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapalia has said that the Election Commission is ready to facilitate the nomination of candidates to every qualified citizen.
Thapalia also said that the physical presence of the candidates is not mandatory for the nomination of candidates. He also said that arrangements have been made in the election officer’s office to be able to nominate candidates in the party’s official letter and voter ID card.
The commission has also made arrangements for political parties to nominate candidates using their resources, means and manpower. In case of any obstruction, the commission has asked the concerned election officer’s office to facilitate it.
