Efforts are underway to rescue Nepalis in Sudan

Kathmandu: The government has said that it is making continuous efforts for the safety and rescue of Nepalis in Sudan.

As the security situation in Sudan is still uneasy, the Nepali Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, is in contact with the Nepali people there and is continuing to update details and rescue operations, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the ministry, apart from the Nepali officers working in the United Nations Peace Mission, 30 other Nepalis are in contact with the Nepali Embassy in Cairo.

19 Nepali people who reached Port Sudan at the request of the embassy have safely reached Jeddah city by ship with the help of the Saudi Arabian government.
