EC directs candidates use bank transaction only for election campaign

Kathmandu: The Election Commission (EC) has again warned the candidates for the local elections to spend through bank accounts for their campaign expenses.

According to the Election Code of Conduct, the Commission has again alerted all the parties and candidates to implement the provision of appointing a responsible official to open the bank account and spend the election expenses of the candidates.

Similarly, when receiving financial assistance of more than twenty-five thousand rupees, it should be done through a bank or financial institution.

The commission has also stated that it should be submitted to the election office or the commission in the format prescribed by the commission as per the prevailing law.
