Kathmandu: Demonstration against corruption has been held at Maitighar today.
Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Sumona Shrestha, medical education reform activist Dr. Govind KC, Hundreds of people including Milan Pandey of Bibeksheel Sajha Party have participated in the demostration.
The team with civic leaders gathered at the funeral home and gave various anti-corruption musical performances.
Anti-corruption demonstrations are increasing after high-ranking political figures have been arrested in the case of fraud involving millions of dollars by making Nepali citizens into Bhutanese refugees and taking them to the United States.
So far, 12 people have been arrested in the fake refugee case, including former Home Minister Balkrishna Khan, Nepal Government Secretary Teknarayan Pandey, former Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa’s security advisor Indrajit Rai, former Deputy Prime Minister and UML Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamazhi’s son Sandeep.
Although an arrest warrant has been issued against Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, he is absconding.
