Death toll from Covid-19 exceeds 3,000

Kathmandu: The government has again corrected the statistics of deaths due to corona virus infection in Nepal. After the data between the Nepal Army and the Covid Crisis Management Center differed, the data was corrected on the basis of the Army’s data.

The number of deaths due to corona has increased while adjusting to the World Health Organization’s definition. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the number of deaths due to corona infection in Nepal has reached 3,010 with the addition of 233 people today.

According to the new definition, the government has included similar symptoms and if anyone else in the area has been confirmed to have corona infection, the death toll from corona has been included in the figures, Poudel said.

Meanwhile, corona infection has been confirmed in 67 people across the country in the last 24 hours. According to Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, 67 out of 3399 PCR tests were done.

Of those added today, only 56 are from Kathmandu Valley. Spokesperson Gautam informed that 39 people have been confirmed as corona in Kathmandu, 14 in Lalitpur, and three in Bhaktapur. In the last 24 hours, 62 people have been released from the corona. At present, 766 people are infected in Nepal. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 42 of the active infected are undergoing treatment in ICU and nine in the ventilator.
