Kathmandu: In a press statement released on Thursday, the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) has called upon Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to refrain from making decisions with long-term implications following the loss of his majority in parliament.
General Secretary Shankar Pokharel highlighted the significance of avoiding actions that could result in enduring consequences, underscoring the current political fragility.
The CPN-UML asserted that Prime Minister Dahal is unable to secure a vote of confidence, citing the alliance formed between the UML and the Nepali Congress party. This alliance was made evident after eight CPN-UML ministers collectively resigned from their posts, signaling a withdrawal of support from the Dahal-led government.
Consequently, Prime Minister Dahal is now obligated to seek a vote of confidence from the parliament within the next 30 days, as per the constitutional requirements.
