Kathmandu: If it weren’t for the Corona pandemic, sports would be in full swing now. When the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers created an atmosphere of football, the international tour of cricket made Nepali sports famous.

The national players were busy preparing for the Ninth National Sports Competition to be held in Gandaki in the third week of February. But Corona’s year-round schedule has been frustrated by players and officials. Football’s World Cup qualifiers have been postponed at the last minute, leaving players frustrated.

The national sports competition organized by the National Sports Council is also in confusion. According to the National Sports Council, said that he was confused about the ninth national sports competition to be held in Pokhara due to Covid.

Earlier, there were examples of running competitions despite infrastructure challenges. In the midst of the Corona epidemic, there were no popular domestic competitions. The upcoming franchise cricket league Everest Premier League has halted. The scheduled Dhangadhi Premier League and Pokhara Premier League also fell victim to Corona.

Corona’s influence has been seen in football’s division leagues since many Gold Cups in Mofasal. Sports activities from singles to doubles have not returned yet.

Sports officials are looking for an environment for players to return to the game by adopting epidemiological criteria.
