Country marks festival of colors ‘Holi’

Kathmandu: The Country is marking festival of colors ‘Holi’ today. People across the countries are celebrating holi festival organising several programmes and gathering.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged all Nepalis to celebrate Holi in a dignified manner following the health standards.

Giving a message of good wishes on the occasion of Phagu Purnima (Holi) today, Prime Minister Deuba urged the people to observe the health standards and observe Holi without any hindrance as the infection of covid-19 has not been completely controlled yet.

He also expressed the belief that the Holi festival would inspire all to build a civilized society by eradicating various kinds of distortions, inconsistencies and vices existing in the society.

He said that Nepali society is also ethnically, linguistically and culturally diverse like the various colors played on Holi through the message of good wishes.

On the occasion of Holi, the government has given public holiday in Himalayan and hilly districts today. Nepali in Terai region will play holi on Friday (Tomorrow).
