Kathmandu: Friday night, the country has been battered by continuous monsoon rains, causing widespread disruption and damage. The relentless downpour has led to severe flooding in the Terai and landslides in the hilly regions, severely impacting daily life.

The heavy rainfall has resulted in waterlogged roads and significant disruptions to electricity and drinking water services across most parts of the country. In the hilly areas, landslides have damaged several roads, making transportation difficult. Meanwhile, the Terai region is grappling with widespread inundations, with floodwaters entering homes and displacing residents.

The water levels in all major rivers have risen alarmingly. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a warning, urging residents to remain vigilant as the situation continues to worsen. Particularly, those living near the Bagmati, Bishnumati, and other rivers in the Kathmandu Valley are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
