Kathmandu: The main opposition party, Nepali Congress has demanded for immidiate parliament meeting.
After the government brought the ordinance on the Constitutional Council, the Congress had called a meeting of office bearers on Wednesday. The meeting termed the ordinance brought by the government as contrary to the essence of the constitution and said that the issuance of the ordinance by deceiving the session of the parliament has further exposed the undemocratic and totalitarian character of the government.
The meeting of the Congress officials has demanded to convene the session of the parliament immediately. Also, a meeting of the working committee of the parliamentary parties has been convened on January 15.
The office-bearers’ meeting also reviewed the nationwide protests against the government on December 13.
