Kathmandu: Nepali Congress has decided to fight for the post of president.
This decision was taken by the meeting of office bearers and former office bearers held at Dhumbarahi today, the residence of Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Also, Congress has demanded the government to arrange the necessary legal arrangements so that the presidential election can be held on time.
The meeting drew the attention of the government and the Election Commission to prepare for the presidential election so that the new president will be sworn in on the day the 5-year term is completed.
