Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress has decided not to lay claim to the new government.
A meeting of office bearers held at the residence of party president Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha on Thursday decided not to claim a majority government as the majority was not in his favor.
He said that the decision was taken as the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) did not support him and the UML’s Madhav-Nepal faction did not resign.
The party has also stated that Oli will remain the prime minister for a month and a decision will be taken later.
