Kathmandu: The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has decided to take a legal and political action against the dissolution of parliament. The Congress has also called on the civil society to oppose the dissolution of the parliament.
A joint meeting of Congress office-bearers and former office-bearers on Saturday morning concluded that democracy is in danger and decided to fight a legal and political battle to protect it.
The meeting was held at the residence of party president Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha.
The party has termed the dissolution of the parliament as undemocratic and conspiratorial, saying that the party president Sher Bahadur Deuba had demanded the prime minister with the signatures of the majority of the parliamentarians.
The Congress has even appealed to the civil society to oppose it.
