Chinese Ambassador pays courtesy call on PM Karki

Kathmandu: Ambassador of China to Nepal, Chen Song, has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister of the Interim Government, Sushila Karki.

At the meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Thursday, PM Karki said Nepal and China have historical and close bilateral relations, and Nepal is ever committed to the one China policy.

On the occasion, PM Karki expressed her confidence that the support received from China in the areas such as trade, investment, connectivity, agriculture, energy, tourism, and technology transfer would continued, informed Bhrigu Dhungana, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Prime Minister Karki extended gratefulness to the Chinese government for the support received in the reconstruction of the Nepal-China Friendship Bridge at Rasuwagadhi, which was washed away by floods.

She also expressed the hope that necessary support would be received for the facilitation of movement from other border points as well. Chinese Ambassador Chen Song, on behalf of the Chinese government, congratulated Karki on being appointed the Prime Minister of Nepal, and expressed the confidence that the relations between China and Nepal would further strengthen in coming days.

He emphasized that the mutual understanding, support, and cooperation between China and Nepal would continue while assuring China’s ever readiness to work in the interest of both countries and their people.
