China provides additional 1.6 million vaccines to Nepal

Kathmandu: China has provided 1.6 million doses of vaccines to Nepal. On Wednesday, Chinese Ambassador to the Ministry of Health Hao Yanchi handed over the vaccine to Health and Population Minister Biradh Khatiwada.

So far, 3.4 million doses have been donated from China and 5.9 million doses have been purchased under Cavax Cost Sharing. Health Secretary Roshan Pakharel informed that 1 million 20 thousand doses have already been received and others are in the process to arrive.

Ambassador Yanchi also said that China’s assistance would help in controlling the epidemic.

Health Secretary Pakharel thanked China for its assistance in controlling the epidemic in Nepal.
