Cabinet decides to close schools across the country

Kathmandu: The government has decided to close schools across the country.

A cabinet meeting on Monday has decided on the recommendation of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC).

Schools and educational institutions will have to teach through virtual and alternative methods. Earlier, a meeting of the CCMC Board of Directors held on Sunday had decided to postpone all the examinations from Monday .

The meeting also decided that the local administration could issue a restraining order from April 30 in the hilly and mountainous districts and in the valleys as well as in the Terai-Madhes and concerned districts where more than 500 people have been infected.

The number of infected people is more than 500 in Morang, Parsa, Kaski, Dang and Rupandehi, 458 in Kailali and 488 in Chitwan.

The cabinet meeting has decided not to stop international and domestic flights immediately. Nepalis coming from international flights will be kept in home quarantine for 10 days and foreign nationals will be kept in hotel quarantine.
